The Europa Club was formed in February 1994 under the Popular Flying Association (PFA) type-club rules, and our Constitution reflects those beginnings. The founder members hoped to bring together both existing and prospective Europa builders in an independent forum for discussion and action on issues concerned with the building and flying of Europa aircraft. Our growth since then has reflected the popularity of the Europa design itself, with hundreds of members worldwide.
The object of the Europa Club is to bring together as many builders and operators as possible, so that we may share experiences to our mutual benefit. This is done through our newsletter, The Europa Flyer, issued in March, June, September & December each year; by face-to-face contact through meetings, seminars and fly-ins; and of course on the e-mail forum.
To help builders and operators get in touch, every member receives a list of all members, with appendices including modifications applied and services used by builders, and a list of all Europa builders/owners worldwide sorted by location.
One of our members has created a collection of building and flying hints and tips, arranged in logical building order, which the Club distributes to members. Another volunteer has arranged pre-approval with the PFA for a number of popular modifications, saving much red tape.
Subjects addressed by Club publications and activities include safety in all its aspects, builder's tips & ideas, problems encountered & solutions developed, possible engine alternatives, type conversion training, maintenance, insurance, touring abroad and formation flying.
Club members have also helped to set up and maintain the Europa e-mail forum and other internet resources including these web pages.
We enjoy a comfortable relationship with the Europa Aircraft Company, but the Europa Club is completely independent of the company.
