Responsible for:

  • Liaising with the PFA and the factory on all aspects of modifications.
  • Formatting selected modifications into Europa Club Modifications for use by
    club members.
  • Providing advice to and coordinating feedback from club members.

Flying experience

Military Flying including:
Training on Bulldogs, Jet Provost, Hawk and Jetstream.
9 years on the C130 Hercules including worldwide transport operations, tactical low level flying, airdrop, maritime reconnaissance, air-to-air refuelling, fighter affiliation.

Civil Flying including:
18 years (so far) in British Airways including B747 and B777.

Private Flying including:
2 years Jodel D117A
6 years on my Europa.

Special skills/experience

Degree in Electronics, 6 years completing a Europa with over 20 modifications which led to a close working relationship with the PFA creating the modifications representative post on the club committee.

Locality

My Europa is presently on my own strip near Devizes. In the future it will be spending the winter months on an airpark in France.

Aircraft, and current status

My Europa is build number 203 (a monowheel Classic with XS firewall forward) with a Rotax 912S and Airmaster prop. G-MIME first flew in August 2001 and received its permit in December 2001. To date (January 2007) it has a total of 200hrs. It took 6 years and at least 2500hrs to build.

The more significant modifications include:
Parallel Fuel System, Cowl Flaps, Overhead Ventilator, Outrigger Pivot Bearing, External Power Connector, Firewall and Tailwheel Belcrank Mod (care of Graham Singleton).

Avionics include:
Kin KMD150, Apollo SL40 radio, Garmin GTX320 transponder, RMI uMonitor (including fuel flow integrator), RMI uEncoder, Sony Worldband radio, Navaid Autopilot.
